Kensington Tutors provide advice and guidance to families wishing to have their children study in the UK. Our team is made up of people who have worked in UK Independent schools, with some of our consultants currently working in top schools. This allows us to provide up-to-date, professional, impartial guidance on the UK school system and on choosing a school that is the best fit for you and your children.

The Process

  1. Initial Meeting. We start with a short, free initial meeting, between the parents and a Director. This is to ensure an clear understanding of what you wish to get from the process, and for you to meet us and feel confident in your choice of educational support.

  2. Consultation. We then meet with the parents and child, to discuss the education goals in detail, what the important criteria are that matter to you, your priorities, and also to get to know your child. This enables us to identify key information in order to start working on a short list of schools. Meeting your child during the consultation helps us understand them, in order to ensure we identify the most suitable schools for them, where they will thrive academically and socially and above all else, be happy.

  3. Report. The team will put together a shortlist of schools for the family, that include details on the school's focus, location, background, strengths and weaknesses. We liaise with all the schools to ensure they would be a good fit, to identify specific entry requirements and discuss your specific needs. Once you have had time to look though the report, we will follow up with a face to face, Zoom or phone call discussion, to ensure that you have all the information you need, find out any further requirements, and to organise school visits.

  4. Schools. For many parents, we organise visits to the schools, either through open days or an individual tour. Some parents are happy to do this themselves and we then ensure you have all the information needed to do this easily. We can advise on questions to ask or accompany you on the day should you wish. After all visits are completed, we will meet again to discuss the benefits and possible drawbacks of each choice.

  5. Application. Once your decision is made, we are happy to assist in the application process.

  6. On going support. If the school of your choice requires an entrance examination or an interview, we are happy to suggest and provide tutoring or interview skill sessions to ensure your child is well prepared and confident about the entry process.

Online Education

My daughter sat her GCSEs. Physics was probably her weakest subject and she described it as “scary”. The tutoring sessions were invaluable. Not only did he manage to get her to grasp the many difficult concepts she was struggling with but in his very calm manner, he took her fear of the subject away giving her that much needed confidence. He also helped her with exam technique, explaining what the examiner was looking for thus ensuring she got the full marks for specific questions. Josie says “he broke things down then built them up step by step.” She attained an A (double science) which a few months prior would have been unthinkable. Thank you.
