Our tutors for school-aged studies are all predominantly qualified teachers in the UK education system, specialists in their field and passionate about their subjects. They are sourced from working relationships built in schools. We also use professional tutors who have many years experience in their chosen field. Many are Oxbridge graduates. The tutors ensure that every child is treated as a unique individual, tailoring their tutoring to meet their pupils needs, building their knowledge, confidence and resilience.

For University level onwards, our professional tutors have extensive experience of the subject plus the requirements needed to achieve at a high level. They are able to impart their knowledge and love of the subject along with having skills in areas such as critical analysis and essay writing.

After an initial consultation to identify the aims and focus of the tutoring, sessions usually take place weekly and last for an hour. In the run up to exams, some pupils request more frequent sessions and we are happy to provide these. We are always mindful of other commitments a pupil may have and do not want to over burden them. We consult with the family before increasing the number of sessions or their length. Although a considerable amount of our tutoring is related to public examinations, especially due to time lost through Covid, we do provide on-going tutoring. Tutoring can be very helpful in supporting pupils where English is their second language, or to ensure sound understanding in core areas such as Maths, Science and English. This could be at Prep or Senior level.

Tutoring for entrance examinations is also popular. Depending on where you would like to send your child, they may need to sit an exam at age 7, 8, 11 or 13. Some of these, such as the Common Entrance, are similar across all schools using them, but others may be school specific assessment tests. Our tutors have experience of supporting pupils to gain entrance to many of the top London junior and senior schools.

My daughter sat her GCSEs. Physics was probably her weakest subject and she described it as “scary”. The tutoring sessions were invaluable. Not only did he manage to get her to grasp the many difficult concepts she was struggling with but in his very calm manner, he took her fear of the subject away giving her that much needed confidence. He also helped her with exam technique, explaining what the examiner was looking for thus ensuring she got the full marks for specific questions. Josie says “he broke things down then built them up step by step.” She attained an A (double science) which a few months prior would have been unthinkable. Thank you.
